This process is on-going and we are encouraged by the interactions we have had with multi-faith organisations and the private sector.

Contributions by partners / Services in Kind

The independent bus operators across the country were the primary sector partnering with us to purchase and distribute more than 22,000 bags of 12,5kg Mielie Meal in the initial weeks of the initiative.

Numerous organisations have assisted with the distribution program in a variety of ways including,

  • Manufacturing entities providing Mielie Meal at discounted prices even in the face of price hikes country-wide
  • Trucking companies allowing the use of trucks to facilitate the logistics
  • Women organisations who facilitated the inclusion of the Mielie Meal in food hampers that have already been distributed country-wide, with the integration of COGTA and Social Development and many others, who have added many other food items to the mielie meal to make into food hampers.
